On December 18, 2024, Belarus and Russia signed an Agreement on the Mutual Enforcement of Court Rulings.
The new Agreement will allow court rulings of Belarus and Russia on civil and criminal cases, in the part of a civil action, involving the recovery of money, including state duties, other court costs, and procedural expenses, to be enforced without the recognition procedure. In other words, the enforcement procedure for a foreign ruling will be the same as for a national ruling.
The Agreement does not apply to court rulings that provide for the satisfaction of non-monetary claims in addition to the collection of money.
The Agreement will enter into force after ratification.
