On the replacement of Eurobonds of the Republic of Belarus
A press release has been published on the website of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus on the beginning of the replacement of Eurobonds of the Republic of Belarus with domestic government bonds through a non-resident depository (NSD).
The following Eurobond issues are subject to replacement:
- Belarus-2026
- Belarus-2027
- Belarus-2030
- Belarus-2031
Eurobonds will be replaced by domestic government bonds with similar parameters (currency, interest rate, frequency of interest income payments, maturity date). Only those Eurobond holders who purchased the securities before July 26, 2024 and ensure that they are blocked in the accounts of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus can make the replacement.
The replacement procedure will be carried out on the dates of interest income payments on Eurobonds, as specified in the issue documentation.
The debut substitution will be carried out on December 27, 2024, in relation to Belarus-2027 Eurobonds. The required information must be sent to NSD no later than 15 business days before the specified date.
The procedure for replacing Eurobonds of the Republic of Belarus through the NSD was determined by the Bank of Russia on 28.08.2024.
